When you’re looking for a great headshot photographer, one of the first things you’ll want to consider is whether or not they offer outdoor headshot sessions. Outdoor headshots have a lot of benefits that can make them a better choice for many people. In this blog post, we’ll discuss some of the reasons why you might want to opt for an outdoor headshot session instead of an indoor one.

The majority of my clients prefer to have their corporate headshot photo taken in the studio. This gives them great flexibility when adding extra component to the photograph such as text. It is a clean and elegant option for getting a headshot.

However, there are times where having your photo taken outdoors makes more sense and may be the preferred option. Real estate agents are a perfect example of this. Photographs that are taken outdoors are often referred to as an environmental portrait. This is because you place your subject in the natural environment that they are trying to promote themselves in.

If you are an environmental activist, then it would also make sense to have your headshot taken outdoors. This gives people a better idea of what you’re all about and the causes that you care about. The same can be said for anyone who works with nature or animals on a regular basis. Placing you in a place of work or a place of interest can add credibility to your photograph which in turn adds credibility to you.

Having your photograph taken outdoors can also result in a photograph that is more difficult to recreate and so you end up with a more unique type of photograph. Outdoor headshot photo sessions can also be more convenient for the client because if they are already at their place of work which means that there is no travel required to get to the studio. It can however be more expensive because it means that the photographer will have to travel and may have to transport photographic equipment and lighting to the shoot location.

The truth is that normally, photographers that shoot headshot sessions outdoors are going to have a higher quality camera. This is due to the fact that they need to be able to shoot in lower lighting conditions. When you’re trying to get a headshot in natural light, you’re really at the mercy of the weather and the time of day. If it’s an overcast day, then your photograph is going to be ideal because the soft light that results on an overcast day is ideal for photographing people. A good photographer will work with whatever type of light is available and will place you in the perfect place to get the most flattering look for you.

If you’re looking for a professional headshot that is going to be unique and really capture who you are, then you should definitely consider having your headshot taken outdoors. At the end of the day it really comes down to the way that you are going to use the photograph. If you are in real estate, a politician or someone that works outdoors, then this might be the best type of headshot photo for you.
