What headshot photography costs?

Professional corporate headshots serve as marketing tools that represent best practices in branding, so using them enhances your online presence which leads to better opportunities whether those be networking events

Headshot photography costs

Many headshot photographers will charge you by the hour, or they might offer a package. The price of headshots can range from $100 to $3000, but most headshot photos cost between $200 and $500. It’s not just about the money though! Professional headshots provide many benefits that are worth it in the long run. A lot of photographers offer packages. I prefer to do an “à la carte” service where there is a photography fee for the session and the photos are then purchased individually. This is the way my clients prefer to get their photos as they are not locked into a package and they can pay as little as $215 or over $1000. It’s up to them.

So what are the benefits of headshot photos?

A professional headshot photograph can lead to more opportunities. Access to better networking events. Professional headshots serve as marketing tools that represent best practices in branding, so using them enhances your online presence which leads to better opportunities whether those be networking events.

One thing to remember is not only to look at the price because that is only one part of the equation in getting a good headshot photograph that is going to work for you. The idea here is to define the type of photograph that you need to find the photographer that is right for you and is going to be able to deliver a photo that you are going to like.

What to look for in a headshot photographer

Check out their work

Start by checking out their website and the gallery. This is going to give you an idea of the type of image that they are going to produce for you. The gallery should be fairly consistent. The idea is that by having similar images in the gallery, the photographer is going to be able to reproduce the same for you.

Make contact

The second thing is to make contact with the photographer to get a “feel” for their personality. Don’t forget that you are going to have to be coached by this person so you need to be able to get along with them. Doing this on the phone is not ideal, but at least you are going to be somewhat of a first impression of them. You are going to spend at least an hour with this person so you should get a good feeling about them when you talk on the phone.

Preparation

The last thing I would recommend is finding out how they are going to help you to get a good photograph. This is done with preparation for the photo session. They are the expert here so they need to guide you through every step of the way. You should know exactly what the process is and what to expect on the day.

Doing these things is going to maximise the chances of you finding a photographer that is going to work with you and help you to get an amazing photo that is going to work for you.

If, when you are inquiring about their service, something doesn’t feel right. Move on. There are plenty of photographers to choose from and it won’t be too difficult to find someone that is going to be a good match for you.
