A good team photo can really help to strengthen the identity of your company. It can be used on websites, in brochures, on social media, and more. If you’re looking to arrange a team photo shoot, there are a few things you need to consider. In this article, we will discuss 10 tips for arranging the perfect team photo shoot!

1. Timing is everything. You need to make sure that you schedule the photo shoot for a time when everyone is available. That means no one should be on vacation, out of town for business, or otherwise unavailable.

2. Location is also important. The location of the photo shoot will affect the overall tone of the photos. Ideally, this is going to take place at your work premises or at location nearby. The preferred location is your place or work. This is the best way to minimise the impact on your staff and it’s also not weather dependant.

3. Choose the right photographer. Not all photographers are created equal! Make sure you do your research and find a photographer who you feel confident will be able to capture the spirit of your team.

4. Decide on the style of the photos. Are you looking for formal headshots? Candid shots? A mix of both. The idea is to have consistency across all the photos. This is why most business go for a clean paper backdrop. It is a classy and stylish way to photograph your staff. For group shots, a location shot taken in the work area is also a good way to show clients a little about your business.

5. Get everyone on the same page. Make sure everyone knows what to expect from the photo shoot. What should they wear? What is the meeting spot? How long will it take? The more information you can give your team, the better!

6. Take a group shot and individual shots. Most team photo shoots will include around 3 headshots for each individual and a group shot. Make sure you are clear when talking to your photographer to understand what your photography package includes.

7. Give your team plenty of notice. Once you have all the logistics sorted, it’s important to give your team as much notice as possible. This way they can clear their schedules and be ready for the big day!

8. Have a back-up plan. Just in case something goes wrong on the day of the shoot. Often, photoshoots are arranged over 2 days. This gives anyone not being able to attend on the first day, an opportunity to get photographed on the second day.

9. Be prepared on the day of the shoot. Make sure you have everything you need before the photographer arrives. This includes, water, snacks, and anything else that will help your team feel comfortable during the photo shoot.

10. Relax and have fun! This is probably the most important tip of all! If you’re feeling a little nervous, that’s ok. Your photographer will work with you and help you relax so that you have fun during the session.

So make sure you follow these steps and you’re sure to have a successful team photo shoot!
